EUR/USD Under $1.1300 as USDOLLAR Tries to Break September Downtrend
Categorias:
After the Federal Reserve's non-decision recently, investors are presently aiming to various other reserve banks to improve their alleviating initiatives. While the Bank of Japan appears like a noticeable selection offered the nation's battle to discover regular development and also secure rising cost of living, market interest appears to be concentrating a lot more carefully on the European Central Bank in the direct after-effects of the Fed.

While the Euro could be selling a little a fog in the post-FOMC conference globe - having actually been drawn regarding many thanks to the contending aspects of the United States Dollar decrease as well as the bounce in threat belief - investors could be offered a lot of gas to reignite their bearish Euro predisposition over the coming days.

Versus the background of the ECB having currently devalued its development as well as rising cost of living projections at its most current plan palaver in early-September, the 3 ECB Executive Board participants talking this week - Couere, Nowotny, and also Praet - will certainly have an opportunity to speak up the effectiveness of broadening the ECB's existing QE program.

In the wake of the Fed's non-decision last week, ECB Executive Board participant Benoit Couere stated that the Fed's choice to maintain prices on hold verifies the ECB's very own ugly analysis for worldwide development. ECB Chief Economist and also Executive Board participant Peter Praet stated recently that the ECB would not wait to act once more if it considered "shocks" to be much longer long-term compared to presently prevented (which appears most likely as well as feasible since the Fed has actually held constant). Offered the closeness to these remarks, it's not likely that these ECB participants alter their dovish song when they talk today.

All the same, via its words and also activities (primarily words to this factor), the ECB appears to be in the beginning of oiling the skids for a growth of its QE program past its September 2016 expiry; a chagce in the program's extent (exactly what bonds could be acquired), dimension (the run-rate of purcchases, presently at EUR60 billion/month), and/or period (when the program will certainly go to) could possibly all document to be materially unfavorable for the Euro over the coming months - a re-run of early-2015 for the Euro and also perhaps the United States Dollar.

Forex Tutorial: Foreign Exchange Risk and Benefits
In this section, we’ll take a look at some of the benefits and risks associated with the forex market. We’ll also discuss how it differs from the equity market in order to get a greater understanding of how the forex market works.

The Good and the Bad
We already have mentioned that factors such as the size, volatility and global structure of the foreign exchange market have all contributed to its rapid success. Given the highly liquid nature of this market, investors are able to place extremely large trades without affecting any given exchange rate. These large positions are made available to forex traders because of the low margin requirements used by the majority of the industry’s brokers. For example, it is possible for a trader to control a position of US$100,000 by putting down as little as US$1,000 up front and borrowing the remainder from his or her forex broker. This amount of leverage acts as a double-edged sword because investors can realize large gains when rates make a small favorable change, but they also run the risk of a massive loss when the rates move against them. Despite the foreign exchange risks, the amount of leverage available in the forex market is what makes it attractive for many speculators.
The currency market is also the only market that is truly open 24 hours a day with decent liquidity throughout the day. For traders who may have a day job or just a busy schedule, it is an optimal market to trade in. As you can see from the chart below, the major trading hubs are spread throughout many different time zones, eliminating the need to wait for an opening or closing bell. As the U.S. trading closes, other markets in the East are opening, making it possible to trade at any time during the day.

While the forex market may offer more excitement to the investor, the risks are also higher in comparison to trading equities. The ultra-high leverage of the forex market means that huge gains can quickly turn to damaging losses and can wipe out the majority of your account in a matter of minutes. This is important for all new traders to understand, because in the forex market – due to the large amount of money involved and the number of players – traders will react quickly to information released into the market, leading to sharp moves in the price of the currency pair.
Though currencies don’t tend to move as sharply as equities on a percentage basis (where a company’s stock can lose a large portion of its value in a matter of minutes after a bad announcement), it is the leverage in the spot market that creates the volatility. For example, if you are using 100:1 leverage on $1,000 invested, you control $100,000 in capital. If you put $100,000 into a currency and the currency’s price moves 1% against you, the value of the capital will have decreased to $99,000 – a loss of $1,000, or all of your invested capital, representing a 100% loss. In the equities market, most traders do not use leverage, therefore a 1% loss in the stock’s value on a $1,000 investment, would only mean a loss of $10. Therefore, it is important to take into account the risks involved in the forex market before diving in.
Differences Between Forex and Equities
A major difference between the forex and equities markets is the number of traded instruments: the forex market has very few compared to the thousands found in the equities market. The majority of forex traders focus their efforts on seven different currency pairs: the four majors, which include (EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD, USD/CHF); and the three commodity pairs (USD/CAD, AUD/USD, NZD/USD). All other pairs are just different combinations of the same currencies, otherwise known as cross currencies. This makes currency trading easier to follow because rather than having to cherry-pick between 10,000 stocks to find the best value, all that FX traders need to do is “keep up” on the economic and political news of eight countries.

The equity markets often can hit a lull, resulting in shrinking volumes and activity. As a result, it may be hard to open and close positions when desired. Furthermore, in a declining market, it is only with extreme ingenuity that an equities investor can make a profit. It is difficult to short-sell in the U.S. equities market because of strict rules and regulations regarding the process. On the other hand, forex offers the opportunity to profit in both rising and declining markets because with each trade, you are buying and selling simultaneously, and short-selling is, therefore, inherent in every transaction. In addition, since the forex market is so liquid, traders are not required to wait for an uptick before they are allowed to enter into a short position – as they are in the equities market.
Due to the extreme liquidity of the forex market, margins are low and leverage is high. It just is not possible to find such low margin rates in the equities markets; most margin traders in the equities markets need at least 50% of the value of the investment available as margin, whereas forex traders need as little as 1%. Furthermore, commissions in the equities market are much higher than in the forex market. Traditional brokers ask for commission fees on top of the spread, plus the fees that have to be paid to the exchange. Spot forex brokers take only the spread as their fee for the transaction. (For a more in-depth introduction to currency trading, see Getting Started in Forex and A Primer On The Forex Market.)

By now you should have a basic understanding of what the forex market is and how it works. In the next section, we’ll examine the evolution of the current foreign exchange system.

How can you become rich in forex starting with only $20?
Categorias:
Granted I dont think you really can. I just meant a small sum of money. I just got into forex trading and have noticed that it seems like you need a large sum of money to make any profit off of it. Is there a way to make enough to quit your day job? What do you think the minimum amount of money is required to invest to make it possible?

By Simon CoulterMahiFX.com Head of Product Development and Testing:

As a previous user so eloquently pointed out; leverage allows you to  take a small amount of money and trade a much larger sum. Thus you don't  need a huge amount of money to make money in forex. The term “rich” is  generally the issue for new traders. Can you get rich trading the  markets? Yes. But if you go into it with that mindset you're going to  make a ton of mistakes trying to make that happen.

The Key

The key to making money in forex is conquering the psychology of  trading. You need to set aside whatever notions and goals you have so you  are able to take what the market has to offer. Learning a system and  strategy isn't hard. Patience and the ability to react appropriately,  without emotion clouding your judgment, are the hallmarks of a  successful trader.

So long as you're consistently able to gain more than you lose; you've  won. Start with $200 and trade a dime a pip. Continue to post wins,  build on your balance, and add more as you go.

My advice is to learn on a demo account then move to a live account with  a very small amount- a couple hundred bucks- and trade in micro-lots  for a few months. Making the transition from demo to live at a high  amount is hard for new traders because you're no longer playing with  fake money. That brings a new level of anxiety that you have to learn to  cope with.

As to how much you'll need to quit your day job and such; that's really  going to depend on how you want to live, what you need to survive, and  so on. It's not really a question any of us can answer for you because  your income is going to be tightly tied to what you are risking.

And finally; if you want to make money through forex you must master  risk management. Again- master risk management. Read as much as you can  on it, focus your strategy on it, and read even more. Live it. Breathe  it. It is essential for honing your ability to pass on less optimal  trades and preserving your profits.

This article Turn On, Tune In Or Cop Out - When You Know It's Time To Trade Live. will help you with knowing when to go from demo to live trading.

THE POPE's DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL
Categorias:
"Who is Jorge Mario Bergoglio?"
"I am a sinner. This is the most accurate definition. It is not a figure of speech, a literary genre. I am a sinner."
The room is small and red.
Heavy red curtains, red-tiled floor, red coverlet on the bed. A painting of the Crucifixion is the only adornment.
It looks like a cell: a monk's or a prisoner's.
This is Room No. 5 of the Jesuit residence in Cordoba, Argentina.
Outside this solitary space, on the other side of its thick stone walls, students flock and scatter like birds. Buskers try their hand at American blues. Street vendors hawk homemade pipes.
But in Room No. 5, all you hear is the insistent echo of your own thoughts, your lonely prayers to a faraway God.
Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the man who would become Pope Francis, spent two years in this room during the 1990s.
It was a dark night for a man now known for his megawatt presence and huge flock of followers. He was 50 years old, forsaken by many fellow Jesuits, left to suffer in silence. It was, he would later say, "a time of great interior crisis."
This is the story of why Jorge Mario Bergoglio was exiled to this room -- and how the painful lessons he learned here are transforming the Catholic Church.

Finding Francis in Cordoba by Rich Brooks, CNN

Cordoba lay in darkness when I arrived late on a July night, save for the dim halo of high streetlamps. My misconceptions about the city became clear by morning.
Cars honked through rush hour. Fashionable shops and fancy restaurants crowded the narrow streets. Dodging downtown traffic, I thought: This is where the Pope was exiled?
It may be 500 miles from Buenos Aires, but Cordoba is no Elba Island. More than 1.3 million people call the city home. It's bigger than Dallas and twice the size of Boston.
By chance, my first day in Cordoba was July 31, the feast day of St. Ignatius, who founded the Jesuits. It was a good day to officially begin my mission here.
Nearly every aspect of Pope Francis' life, from his career as a bouncer to his critiques of capitalism, has been picked apart by the press and a troop of talented biographers.
But as he prepares to make his maiden voyage to the United States, his time in Cordoba -- a dramatic passage for one of world's most famous men -- remains shrouded in mystery. In many timelines of the Pope's life, the years 1990-1992 are an empty, unexplained gap.

THE PEOPLE'S POPE

CNN's Chris Cuomo explores how a humble scholar became a religious rock star. See the people and places that shaped Pope Francis in a CNN special report, "The People's Pope," Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
I plowed through biographies, read dozens of articles and combed through every interview I could find, looking for references to his time in Cordoba. I even wrote the Holy Father a letter. A long shot, I know. More a prayer than a petition.
Receiving no reply, I tried another tack. I came to the city of his exile. Here in Cordoba, I planned to walk where he walked, kneel where he prayed, meet the people he met and read the words he wrote.
Since the early days of his papacy, I've suspected that one of Francis' central messages -- that even the worst sinner is deserving of mercy -- is more than a sentiment from the Catholic catechism. It has the ring of real experience.
And so I found myself in Cordoba's cultural heart, the Manzana Jesuitica -- the Jesuit Block -- a 17th-century complex that includes a tall stone church, a small chapel and the cloistered residence where 10 Jesuits live.
I thought it'd be good luck to attend Mass on St. Ignatius' feast day. Students from the nearby colleges packed into every pew of the Iglesia de la Compania, the Jesuits' church. Stuck in the back row, I couldn't hear most of the local bishop's homily, but I did catch the words "Papa Francisco" several times.
Some 57 years ago, the future pope came to Cordoba as a fresh-faced Jesuit novice, his hair and cassock coal-black. He was 21, about the same age as the students sitting beside me at Mass.
In a picture from 1958, the year Bergoglio entered the Society of Jesus, he looks confident and happy. His mother, who had wanted her eldest son to study medicine, appears apprehensive.

Car Donation Programs in Australia?
Categorias:
While the US is tightening the rules around vehicle donation programs worth billions of dollars annually to charity, one West Australian Not for Profit is accelerating plans to run what it says is the country's first 'Donate a Car' program.
WESTCARE Industries has set up a “Donate a Car” program to help local people with disabilities.
Westcare currently employs 123 people with disabilities and accommodates and trains a further 50.
Western Australians are being encouraged to donate their vehicles which will be sold in auctions and the sale money will be used to help those in the local disabled community.
Peter Beaton, Westcare's Chief Executive Officer says there are a number of benefits for the donor including a hassle-free way of selling their car whereby they can avoid liabilities associated with the transferring of automobiles.
Beaton says the donation may earn the donor a potential tax deduction. Eligible cars must be worth more than $5000 and the valuation has to be authorised by the Australian Tax Office.
As well he says the value of the donation will be maximised by the selling of the vehicle at Perth’s best automobile auctions.
Vehicle Donation programs have been an established fundraising opportunity for decades in the US.
But it tightened the legislative screws on vehicle donation programs with new rules from January 1st, 2005 after complaints that US taxpayers were claiming deductions far in excess of the vehicle’s actual value.
In an effort to reduce abuse, US legislation now requires the charity to provide the taxpayer with a written acknowledgment of the donation, a receipt listing the sale price, vehicle identification number and donor's tax file number within 30 days of the donation of the vehicle and limits a donor's tax deduction to the gross proceeds.
Between 400,000 and a million cars are donated to charities each year in the US. There are thousands of 'vehicle donation program' operators and the larger ones bring in more than US$10million a year! They operate as the middlemen between the charity and the donor.
An IRS investigation found that an analysis of 54 specific donations found that charities actually received less than 10% of the value claimed on the donor's return in more than half the cases, and many actually lost money on some vehicles.
Westcare's General Manager, Peter Taliangis says as the Not for Profit running this program in Australia it will be efficient and responsible and aims to provide 55-80% of the gross sale price of the car direct to Westcare .
The program has been set up to allow car owners to donate on-line, print and submit the forms with their car title and coordinate the delivery of the vehicle.
Peter Taliangis says that ideally Westcare hopes to bring in 10-20 cars initially with an annual income of around $100,000.
He says Westcare is now in a learning process and trying to establish a successful model that it will happily share with other Not for Profits.
